SUSAN L. KING SCHOLARSHIP AWARD

Through the support of the YWCA of Greater Lawrence, the Susan L. King Scholarship Committee awards one $3,000 scholarship each year. To qualify for the Susan L. King Scholarship, the applicant must be a female and have been accepted as a first-year student at an accredited college or university in an Engineering or Science-related curriculum.

The Award was established by the Women in Leadership at Lucent Technologies in memory of Sue King who gave great gifts of joy, optimism and compassion to all who knew her. She exemplified enthusiasm and innovation. As she constantly searched for new ideas and new technologies, she encouraged the best in others. Her courage and optimism were never more evident than during her five-year battle with cancer.
