Education Conference Draws 700 Women
More than 700 women from throughout the
Merrimack Valley and the North Shore recently attended
the YWCA’s Money Conference for Women, hosted
in Andover by honorary chair State Treasurer Shannon
O’Brien. The daylong conference focused on money
management strategies for women of all ages, economic
levels and financial knowledge.
The Conference featured recognized leaders
in the financial services industry who offered practical
advice and tools to help participants design and implement
a personal savings strategy. Dee Lee, a national columnist
and author of Let’s Talk Money, led an interactive
workshop that provided an introduction to personal finances.
Women also attended two separate workshops
of their choice and had the opportunity to meet privately
with a financial planner.
Alexine Clement Jackson, President of
the YWCA of the USA, discussed women’s economic
empowerment, women in philanthropy and the important
work YWCAs around the country and around the world are
doing to help women empower themselves and their families
for financial independence and economic security.
More conferences are scheduled
throughout Massachusetts. For more information, visit
