V-Day’s Production a Proceeds Winner for the YWCA!

For the third year, V-Day Lawrence will be presenting Fuerza: A Night of Spoken Word & Art, as well as three performances of The Vagina Monologues at the Bell Tower at 60 Island Street, Lawrence.

Tickets for all productions are $10.

Directed this year by Krissy Allen, with help from YWCA Board Member Elizabeth Delgado, V-Day is a grass-roots organization dedicated to eliminating violence against women. Again this year, Ms. Allen and Ms. Delgado will be generously donating proceeds to the YWCA’s Domestic & Sexual Violence intervention and prevention programs.

“We are so pleased by the awareness V-Day is bringing to the community about violence against women,” remarked Vilma Lora, YWCA Director of Women’s Services. “The more people who understand the causes of violence, the more opportunity we have in changing behavior,” added Susan Staples, Director of Counseling & Community Education.

You can participate in helping to end violence in the community by supporting V-Day’s performances. Tickets for Fuerza may be purchased at the door for $10, and tickets for each performance of The Vagina Monologues may be purchased in advance for $10 at the YWCA after Monday, March 22nd.

It is expected that the performances will be sold out, so it is advisable to reserve tickets by calling 978.552.8399.
